Abortion doctor Kermit Goznell received three life sentences for the lives of "aborted" babies that were still alive when born, and were then murdered by the doctor when he snipped their spinal cords with scissors. He was also convicted of killing a woman who had come to him for an abortion, as well as hundreds of other abortion law violations.
Personally, I cannot imagine any woman wanting an abortion for any reason, especially, just the fact she doesn't want to be pregnant. There are so many people who are looking to adopt and because of the adoption laws in this country, it makes adoption costly and lengthy. However, private adoption is a trend that that works for both the pregnant woman and the adoptive couple. Even in situations when a woman might give birth to a child with genetic problems or disease, I still could not abort that child. I could not abort a child for any reason, even when I was a pregnant sixteen year old and my mother encouraged me to consider abortion, it was not something I could bring myself to do.
With that said, I would never want to see abortion illegal. That statement has caused me problems with people in churches I've attended. "How can you call yourself a Christian and support abortion?" I am a Christian and I do not support abortion per se, I simply support the legal availability for those who choose abortion. While I whole-heartedly believe that life begins at conception and there are no mistakes when children are born, and I believe Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..." and Psalm 139:15 "My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth." We are made by design by God and are precious in His sight. But I remember what it was like before Roe v. Wade, when women had to sneak around to back alley abortionists and often died from hemorrhage, infection, or wound up unable to ever bear another child because the "doctor" didn't know what he was doing. I remember the stories of women using knitting needles, wire clothes hangers, or other implements to perform their own abortions, and wound up dying or injuring themselves for life. I would never wish that on anyone, no matter my own beliefs.
If this was a perfect world and there was no sin, and no one had sex until marriage and there was no such thing as an unwanted child, then sure, abortions would not be needed or wanted, but until that point, I do want to see women counseled about options like adoption. I would like to see all high schools teaching abstinence, but knowing that not all teens are going to be abstinent, I would like to see schools also teach birth control options for both boys and girls, and for boys to learn that pregnancy IS their responsibility just as much as it is a woman's.
The world has many significant problems that need addressing. Abortion shouldn't be one of them. No woman should die for wanting an abortion, and no baby should be aborted, or killed because an abortion failed. I pray in Jesus' holy Name that those who read this will pray for anyone they know who might be pregnant and seeking an abortion to consider adoption instead and give life a chance.
"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6)."

It's a Crying Shame
As I read posts from Christian news this morning, I was so heartbroken, sad and just sat here in disbelief, yet I was able to find one thing that wasn't evident in the articles.
China has performed over 356 million abortions in the past forty years since instituting the one child only law, and a good portion of those were performed by force and the women then sterilized. 355 million babies murdered. In America, 55 million babies have been aborted in the past thirty years, many of those were aborted at a gestational age where they could have survived out of the womb.
And now a "doctor" and his nurse is under arrest for murdering babies in the doctor's abortion clinic. I cannot even type what they did, so I am posting the story:

As the trial for notorious Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell proceeded this week, one of Gosnell's employees testified that she had personally been involved in the murders of 10 newborn babies, the Christian News Network reports. Adrienne Moton told the court the babies who were born alive had their spines "snipped" with scissors. I cannot feel sympathy for either of these people, and I believe they should receive the death penalty. "House of Horrors" is not even close to what these people have done. And it is far beyond me to understand people like that.
What I did come to see after I cried over these poor, innocent babies, is that each one of them is in Heaven with the Lord and I am thankful for that. I can't even imagine what over 400 million (and counting) children in Heaven looks like, but I can't wait to get there and see them all.
When I was young, I had this world by the short hairs, but the older I get, the more I realize I don't understand much about it or the people who inhabit it. And the less I want to be here. I want to hear the Lord call me home, and I look forward to that day.

The End Times
The end times, the rapture, the war, and the election between Obama and Romney are the topics of nearly every TV news show, Internet blogs, newspapers, and every other type of media. In fact, I think we've been inundated with it to the point that it's difficult to think of anything else.
Top news--is Obama the anti-Christ spoken of in the Bible? No, I don't think so, but he could be the forerunner since he has all ready accepted a position with the UN. (Which it is illegal for a sitting president to accept any paid position. However, "legal" has never been a word in Obama's vocabulary. Or apparently, Cong-resses either, and I suggest whenever they are up for re-election, they are replaced too. Lack of action on their part has allowed a sitting president to completely ignore the Constitution and the law in general.) But Obama may be the one who ushers in the person referred to as the anti-Christ. The UN is most certainly going to try and be our one-world governing entity, and probably for the rise of the one-world religion, Muslim, which is certainly Obama's religion.
I was raised in church when I visited my grandmother in the summer. She was "old" at the time of my birth in 1958, so I only had her until she was 82. She was the love of my life, and I still miss her every day. My grandmother taught me about Jesus and the Bible. She taught me what it meant to be "saved" and how to serve God. She also taught me that Jesus would return in the clouds one day, and this was called the "rapture". I was taught that the rapture was broken into three parts: The Pre-Tribulation Rapture; The Mid-Tribulation Rapture; and The Post-Tribulation Rapture. I was always taught the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, in which Christ will return just before the world is so bad no one can survive, and take all of His children home.
In the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, the world has completely turned from God, and are embracing foreign gods, like when the children of Israel were crossing the wilderness, they begged Aaron to make them a god from the gold they brought out of Egypt. Prices are sky high, jobs aren't available and crime is on the rise. The world is slowly going to ruin but Jesus arrives just in time to save the Christians from going through what is to come.
The Mid-Tribulation Rapture says that the world is in even worse shape. Food is hard to find, the world has turned from anything good. Crime, sex, pornography, and a lackadaisical way of viewing the world has arrived. There are those who will say this is impossible because God will never poor out His wrath on the righteous. However, if you read the Bible, you will find that the Lord did allow His disciples to be stoned to death, boiled in oil, beheaded, hung, nailed to a cross upside down, and other horrendous ends of life. So what makes us so special some 2,000+ years later that God is going to keep us out of any type of danger? We are just human like the rest of the world, and I believe we are going to be tested through at least half of the tribulation, the last days before Christ returns to rule and reign.
The Post-Tribulation Rapture is believed that Christians will go through the entire tribulation just like non-Christians as a test of our faithfulness to God. If we survive the tribulation, and miss out on being beheaded for not confessing and giving our lives over to the new world religion, God will rapture us and take us to Heaven.
Even though I was raised to believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, shortly after I was licensed as a minister in 1995, I received three visions from God about the end of days that led me to believe in the Mid-Tribulation.
The first vision was of Japan. There was a massive earthquake, and Japan was no longer there. Then a chain of earthquakes went up the west coast of South America and North America to Russia. While these earthquakes were opening the earth, I could see San Francisco, which was in ruins. Fires from broken mains spewed into the sky, it was just a wasteland. There were so many dead, there weren't enough alive to dig for any who might have lived, and the National Guard was trying to help, but it was useless because there was a Tsunami from the Japanese earthquake, that rolled over the west coast, putting out the fires, but leaving the entire west coast, parts of Nevada and most of Arizona, and some of New Mexico as ocean view property.
The fire has gone on and was spreading over the mid-west. I kept looking for my children, but my husband, (who was Bear at that time), was no where to be found. When I told him about this vision, he said it must be because he was helping people. Later I knew why I didn't see him, he would pass away before this event ever occurs. I found a type of bunker made from cement, and my youngest son and I got in it, and the fire blew over us but we were unharmed. When we came out, there was a dark-haired woman with a large, blue school bus, filled with boxes of macaroni & cheese. I actually laughed and said, "Lord, you know if mac & cheese is all there is to eat, I'll die from starvation!" I absolutely hate the stuff.
A few nights later, Bear & I went to a worship and deliverance meeting and I met this woman I had never seen before. We talked a bit, but later she asked for my phone number, (yes, this was long before email), and she called me the next day. I invited her over. I write down everything the Lord tells me, or things I think are from the Lord, and have all of this written in longhand in notebooks. We sat down to talk and she starts telling me about a dream the Lord gave her in 1975 about the end of times, and they were nearly identical to mine. I began to shake and told her about the bus and macaroni & cheese. She looked like she had seen a ghost, and told me she had a bus, it was blue and had 600 pounds of macaroni & cheese on it. God always confirms what He tells us so that we will know we aren't just dream-ing.
The last of the dreams dealt with the aftermath of these earthquakes and tidal waves. It's not a pretty sight but one I constantly pray about so I will never forget, and will always be ready when the Lord is.
I also believe in the mid-tribulation rapture because the Bible says we will never see the wrath of God, which in the book of Revelation 14 is also the verses that those who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture use to deny the mid-tribulation.
But this is what I believe. The Bible is very clear in chapter 14 that the following happens:
There is much preaching to every tongue and nation so those who have never accepted Christ as their Savior still have a chance to.
In 14:7-The angels announce that God's wrath is about to come and this is like a last call to Christianity. And the announcement that Babylon has fallen is made.
Then comes the Mark of the Beast. Revelation 14:9 warns those who take the Mark will drink the wine of God's wrath. 14:11 says they will be tormented day & night with fire and brimstone forever.
Verses 12 & 13 calls for the patience of the Saints. (Those who know the Lord.) And those who have remained patient and died because of their belief in God will be rewarded.
Verses 14-16 calls for the harvest of the Saints. The angel with the sickle goes among the Christians and brings the living Christians home for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. The rest of chapter 14 goes on to tell what happens to those who turned their backs on God and worshiped the beast.
While the Bible says that only the Father knows the exact time and hour when any event in the Bible is going to occur, especially the rapture and the end times, we are told to be on the look out for the signs of Christ's return. It's kind of like earthquakes. Geologists can read the rumblings underground and know an earth-quake is going to happen, they just can't say exactly when it will happen. Some of the things we can look for are:
We have seen this all over the world. People claiming they are Christ, or sent by Christ to save the world. Jim Jones, David Koresh are but two I've seen in my own life. They are but paving a way for the real anti-christ who will come saying he is Jesus, and do marvelous signs and deceive many.
I was born in October 1958, just in that time, 54 years, look how many wars has occurred. Korea, the Middle East always at war, Ireland, the attacks on our Marines, and our warships, just to name a few. And the earthquakes. I can't even count the number of earthquakes there has been that I was in, much less, the number of earthquakes all over the world.
Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."
We've seen the wars and earthquakes, and now the famines. Look how many countries are starving, and how many organizations are trying to feed them just a little rice so they won't starve to death. They have no crops because of droughts, no medical care, AIDS is out of control in African countries, and those who do find work, is generally out of their own country and in places where they harvest poppies or other drugs just to feed their families.
Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

Matthew 24:8-9 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of my name."
Who is Jesus talking about in this verse? Christians. Yes, the believers in Jesus will be killed and hated for believing in Jesus. It happens to missionaries all of the time. In China, it's illegal to possess a Christian Bible, the penalty is death. In Muslim countries, death is also the penalty for preaching Jesus. And it's going on right now.
Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come."
Even though they may be killed, there are people who work to fulfill the great commission of preaching Jesus to the whole world. Even here in the United States, people are pulled away from the Gospel by stupidity. Vampire Clubs, Werewolf Clubs, Satanic worship, to name a few. There is no other name under Heaven by which you will be saved. (Acts 4:12)
The apostle Paul tells us-
II Timothy 3:1-5,7 "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of god; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Apostasy is also another sign of the end times. This is the falling away of 1) the gospel by individuals and 2) the church falling away from the gospel and preaching "good time" messages that do not point out sin, nor does it point to Jesus as the only One who can save us.
So, like the seismologists who can't say exactly when the earthquake will strike, they can give an approximate time. The same goes for us. We might not know the exact time of Jesus' return, we can look around at what is happening in the world and see that the time is getting close.
If you are not ready to meet Jesus face-to-face, accept him with a thankful heart and ask Him to forgive your sins and lead you in the way He wants you to go. Find a Bible-believing church, such as a Pentecostal or Assembly of God, and go. Go to both of them and see which you belong in and are comfortable with the pastor, and has new Christian classes, or something along those lines. Get a Bible. The NIV is a good Bible for new Christians because it's written in current day language that makes it easy to understand.

Who is Jesus talking about in this verse? Christians. Yes, the believers in Jesus will be killed and hated for believing in Jesus. It happens to missionaries all of the time. In China, it's illegal to possess a Christian Bible, the penalty is death. In Muslim countries, death is also the penalty for preaching Jesus. And it's going on right now.
Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come."
Even though they may be killed, there are people who work to fulfill the great commission of preaching Jesus to the whole world. Even here in the United States, people are pulled away from the Gospel by stupidity. Vampire Clubs, Werewolf Clubs, Satanic worship, to name a few. There is no other name under Heaven by which you will be saved. (Acts 4:12)
The apostle Paul tells us-
II Timothy 3:1-5,7 "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of god; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Apostasy is also another sign of the end times. This is the falling away of 1) the gospel by individuals and 2) the church falling away from the gospel and preaching "good time" messages that do not point out sin, nor does it point to Jesus as the only One who can save us.
So, like the seismologists who can't say exactly when the earthquake will strike, they can give an approximate time. The same goes for us. We might not know the exact time of Jesus' return, we can look around at what is happening in the world and see that the time is getting close.
If you are not ready to meet Jesus face-to-face, accept him with a thankful heart and ask Him to forgive your sins and lead you in the way He wants you to go. Find a Bible-believing church, such as a Pentecostal or Assembly of God, and go. Go to both of them and see which you belong in and are comfortable with the pastor, and has new Christian classes, or something along those lines. Get a Bible. The NIV is a good Bible for new Christians because it's written in current day language that makes it easy to understand.

What's Wrong With TV?
I live out in the boonies and have satellite TV, and I have one of the moderate packages, which gives me about 250 channels. (Now, I won't go off on a tangent about that--at least not in this post!) I spend more time flipping around trying to find something decent to watch, than I do actually watching a show.
I rarely, if ever, watch NBC, CBS, or ABC. Of the other channels I watch, there is rarely anything that doesn't have inappropriate language, and with the exception of only one or two shows, the rest all have sex, or references to sex, or scenes that suggest sex. And these are daytime and early evening hours, the hours that were once designated "family hours" and all the shows were supposed to be family friendly, and have nothing indecent. Apparently, that no longer applies.
Of every popular network station show on during "family hours," there are words like he**, dam*, and the sexual innuendo isn't even innuendo anymore. Showing couples in bed together talking about the sex they had the night before, friends talking to one another about the sex he or she they spent the night with, including homosexual encounters. Very few of these sexual situations are between married couples, and most of them aren't even between a "couple" who are exclusive to one another, but rather one night stands, and never is mention made of safe sex, or that the results of these casual encounters are pregnancy, which can lead to abortion, and/or sexually transmitted diseases, which, in the case of one night stands, can be passed on and on and on.
Then we get into the so-called "reality" shows. These are the ones I hate the most. Women who dress like prostitutes, with no morals, no self-respect, but are the ones young women are watching. Add to that the shows that glorify teenage pregnancy, and I did read an interview that quoted a 15 year old who wanted to get pregnant so she would get her own TV show and be famous. I've even watched some shows that are supposed to be for young people, and these are on the Disney Channel, no less. The episode I watched took place on a high school campus and showed two girls kissing each other, with the "message" that it's okay to be gay. I've even seen shows that feature young kids, ages nine and ten, who spoke about being gay and their friends laughing at them.
I'm not saying the shows saying 'gay is okay' is worse than the other shows, because they're not. They are all teaching immorality and our youth are the most impressionable. More and more kids are committing suicide, are taking guns to school, are getting arrested for violent crimes, having abortions, using drugs, and going to prison. What's wrong with this picture? The lack of morality in this country. The lack of parents disciplining their children. The lack of God in our schools and our government. And that "separation of church and state" everyone starts hollering about--read your history books. That was included to keep the government out of the church, NOT the church out of government. When God was removed from the classroom, the decline began in a big way.
Romans 1:24-32
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.
In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
I put the text in red to bring it to your attention. Look at the list of things going on in Paul's day--sound familiar? We listen to the news and get mad at corporation presidents who are greedy and ripping off the public, we condemn child molesters and rapists, we watch TV shows that promote envy, we hear about murder and crimes and say the criminal gets what he deserves, people gossip about their friends and co-workers, they slander one another, they say God doesn't exist, and they make fun of those who believe in God; people brag about the new car, house, boat, etc. they just bought, they think they are better than others, and when I watch the true crime TV shows, there are crimes committed that I could have never thought up; children disobey their parents, and parents don't discipline them, or are afraid to because all kids know all they have to do is call CPS and report them; people are mean to one another, unfaithful to their spouses, they don't love one another, and have no mercy on anyone.
And television reflects all of that. I won't watch movies with blatant sex, and I won't watch anything where the actors take the Lord's Name in vain. Why don't they use Buddha's name in vain, or Confucius', or Hitler's maybe, he was a horrible man? We all shout about our government, other countries, inflation, the cost of gas, the price of food, medical care we can't afford, plus a million other things that go on in today's society. Why keep yelling? It doesn't change a thing, but there is a way to change all of it.
If everyone would bow their heads right now and ask Jesus to forgive their sins, believing with their hearts, and begin to act according to God's laws, this world would turn around. We would do away with war, disease, and famine. There would be no need for prisons, bombs, or hospitals even. Poverty would flee. Illness would be a thing of the past. Deserts would become fertile ground for growing food. And the list goes on and on.
If you would like this movement to start in your home, here is the first step:
"Lord, I know I am a sinner and haven't been living the way you want me to. I believe that Jesus is the Christ, who came to earth through a virgin, died on the cross, was buried and rose on the third day, and is coming back one day.
I ask that Jesus live in my heart, and cleanse me of my sins. Let me be an example for my family and friends, so that they will know there is only one God, and one way to Heaven.
I confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Savior and Lord of my life. I thank you and praise you.
In Jesus' holy name. Amen."
If you said that prayer with a sincere heart, your name has been written in God's Book of Life and when you die, you will go to Heaven. Or if the Lord returns before your death, you will be caught up with all of His people. Now, get a Bible and read the book of John in the New Testament. Find a Bible believing church like the Assembly of God, or Pentecostal Church, these two church entities are everywhere, and it's likely you will find one or both close to your house. Visit each one and decide which one you fit in with the best, and attend every week.
Share your salvation with everyone you know, and don't worry about it if they scoff at you, or think you're going through a phase, it happens to all of us. Just stay faithful in reading the Bible and going to church. The more you go, the more you learn, and the more you grow in the Lord.

What We Dislike In Ourselves...
Have you ever heard the saying, "What we dislike in others is usually what we dislike in ourselves?" It is a true saying and I've often noticed that people who tell me that so and so is such a (?), it sounds as if they are talking about themselves! Not that I'm above such things, but I do try to be self-aware and recognize that if someone is doing something that makes me not care for their presence, perhaps I need to do a little soul searching and see if there is something in me that needs to change.
I've also learned more recently that some of my old behaviors that I've diligently tried to erase, have come to the surface and it has made me feel quite small and guilty. I've been trying to deal, without much success, with the feelings of loss and anger over my daughter and her family suddenly moving to California, followed by my youngest son's move to a different part of California, and then my older son moving his family to yet another part of California. And my youngest daughter and her family moved to Texas. I have felt so alone and lonely since their departures, but especially with my older daughter's move because she and her family have lived with us over the past year and a half, and I am so attached to her children, and especially her son, who just turned a year old on May 11.
If you've read my past posts, you know I have been a mother since age sixteen, and have always had a houseful of kids and grandkids until just the past few weeks. And with my husband, Nathan, working in another state, I have been here alone except for my doggies. Although they are a great comfort, they aren't much for conversation. If you know anything about me, which would mean you've read Dancing With Bear: A Love Story, you know that the past thirteen years of my life has been tumultuous to say the least, and more than any one person should have to deal with in an entire lifetime, let alone such a short period of time. But through it all, I have tried to take it all with grace and knowledge that the Lord is in control and my life is His to do with as He pleases. However, over the past few weeks, I have been so much less than grace-full, and have been downright mean on several occasions. I've said the most awful things to Lisa, just to underscore the depth of the pain I feel.
I am writing about this now because I did call her and apologize, because she didn't deserve such an attitude from her own mother, but also because I know she is probably feeling a little lost herself right now. But the main reason I am making my deplorable actions public is because I know how God works, and I know how the enemy works. My actions have kept me from doing God's will, and that is what happens every time the enemy is allowed to horn in on our lives, no matter where we are or what we are doing.
It is so easy for us to take our eyes off the Cross of our salvation, the way Peter took his eyes off Jesus while he was walking on water from the boat. (Matthew 14:28-30) We are often like Peter, full of faith one moment, and faith-less the next. We forget who the author and finisher of our faith is, we take our eyes off of Jesus, and look instead at our circumstances and see the worst. Instead of saying, "Jesus, look at our circumstances," we should be saying, "Circumstances, look at our Jesus!"
No matter how long we have been saved, or how long we've been in ministry, there comes times when we are bombarded by negative circumstances, people, and attitudes. We might not handle these situations with the grace we would like to, but the bottom line is, which side we come out of them on. Do we come out with the realization that we were wrong, and need to apologize to the person, or people, we've offended? Do we repent and ask the Lord's forgiveness and trust that He allowed the situation in order for us to learn and grow? Or do we give up and walk away, playing into the enemy's hands?
Keep praying, keep reading the Bible, keep your eyes on the prize, which is our salvation that leads to Heaven.

It's Your Choice
No matter what today's counselors might tell you, once you are of legal age, everything you do in your life is your choice. You have to choose the direction of your life and how to live it, or spend your life letting circumstance bounce you around like a rubber ball on a school playground. No matter how rough life was for you, or that you didn't have the greatest parents, or that you were raised in the poor area of town, you can either let your circumstances build you up or break you down. No matter where you are now, there are choices to be made that determine your present circumstances, as well as all of your tomorrows.
Everyone has had problems, and certainly, no one has had a perfect life. Even so, some are better than others but that is still no guarantee of a successful life. We read about the rich and famous and their problems every day. From drug abuse, to failed marriages, to committing crimes, no one is immune from bad choices. My life wasn't so great. I was molested by two uncles from age three to about age eleven. And yes, those events did mess up my mind and caused me to make bad choices as a teen, and even as a young adult. But no matter what happened to me or to you, everyone is responsible for the choices they make and the paths they follow. So how do we put the past to rest and move beyond our circumstances?
I would like to tell you how simple it is, but it's not simple. Like anything else in our lives, it takes work and diligence, and it takes practice every single day. You have to want to live right, you have to practice living right, and you need a good example of living right. The best example is the Bible, and then those who live by the Word of God daily. If you aren't a Christian, that's okay, it's not difficult to become one. Ask God to forgive you, thank Him for that forgiveness, and praise Him for what He has done and will continue doing in your life.
Jesus died on the cross for your sins because God loved you so much, He sacrificed His only begotten Son as the final blood offering because "God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall be saved." Once you know the salvation of God, you will feel the love of God fill your heart to overflowing, and you will feel a peace that passes all understanding. You are now a child of God, an adopted child who has the same inheritance as Jesus. Heaven now belongs to you and when you stand before God after your earthly death, He won't remember the sins you committed before your salvation, but only the love you've shown others, and the ones you've told about Jesus, since your salvation. What a wonderful blessing!
This is not to say your life on earth suddenly comes without any problems. You still have the problems you had before salvation, but now you have an answer for them. Now you can call on the Lord for answers to solve your problems. Serving the Lord will bring about blessings overflowing, to show you how to live, how to cope with problems when they do crop up, and how to resist those old habits that used to haunt you. I used to smoke cigarettes and I prayed and prayed to lose the craving and for God to take the habit from me. The Lord did, and I was smoke free that same day. I put my brand new lighter in the half a pack of cigarettes I had left, stuck them in a drawer, and didn't smoke any more. Then, a few months later, something happened and I felt so stressed over it, that I lit a cigarette. I looked at the burning evil in my hand, and said, "Lord, I asked you to take this from me." The Lord replied, "I did. You're the one who picked it up again."
He was right. I didn't have the habit, nor did I have a craving. I just picked up a cigarette because that's what I used to do when I became stressed out. We have a lot of old habits we have to get rid of. Everything from cigarettes to alcohol, from drugs to sex, and everything in between are habits we have to rid ourselves of, and with God's help through the Holy Spirit, we can be victorious over our habits. As long as we depend on the Lord for our strength (Psalm 28:7), in Him we live and breathe (Acts 17:28), He will guide us into all righteousness (John 16:13).
Jesus is our answer to everything. And no matter what we have done, or how many times we have sinned, He will forgive us. His shed blood covers our sins and washes us white as snow. Through Him we are truly made brand new as if we had never sinned, just like when we were babies, completely blameless. No matter what you have gone through in your life, or how you were raised, and no matter what is going on in your life right now, Jesus is standing by, waiting for you to make the decision to follow Him. No man knows the number of his days, but if yours ends without the decision for Christ, you will go to hell. The devil is real and so is hell. Don't let the devil trick you like he did Eve in the garden. The devil is a liar (John 8:44), so don't believe him when you start thinking you don't deserve salvation. On the other hand, don't blame the devil when you start doing stuff you know you shouldn't. You know right from wrong, you have a brain in your head, so don't blame the devil when you know it's a choice you made all on your own.
"So repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the Name of Jesus, for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38
